'Mitch' - Hadstock NZ Mitcham
'Mitch' - IAR 51793 - is our gentle giant. His bloodlines are obvious in his face and fibre - sire: Purrumbete Brigantine and dam: Adelyn Tranquility. And Mitch's genetics include Highlander, Maid of the Mist Inti and El Dorado through those parents. Now a dense monster carrying plenty of rich, crimped fibre Mitch had peacefully dominated our young male herd and, having recently been certified, is beginning to exhibit that leadership over the girls. Loves the lucerne hay ... check his fleece stats below!
In the Show ring his primary successes were the 2003 Canterbury A&P Intermediate Champion Huacaya and his fleece the Reserve Champion Fleece at the 2004 Mayfield A&P. And in November 2004 Mitch won the Senior Champion at the Manawatu A&P 2004.
Fleece: Shorn on 17 November 2004 at the North Otago A&P Show Mitch was carrying 5.75 kgs on a 368 day fleece. Boy he was happy to get rid of that ... we were happy to collect it!
2nd Shear: Mean 22.9, SD 4.3, CV 18.9 (Nov 2003), weight 3.95Kg (Mitch aged 18 months).
3rd Shear: Mean: 27.4, SD 4.9, CV 18.0 (Nov 04), weight 5.7 kg.
4th sample: Mean: 28.5, SD 5.4, CV18.8 (Oct 05), Mitch aged 3.5 years. Those stats do not recognise the brightness and solid crimp of Mitch's fleece.
