The Seeker ... surely the perfect alpaca (says Andy)

Aptly named 'The Seeker' because of the heavy fleece on her 'bonnet' Seeker remains Andy's favorite girl amongst the herd. When feeding nuts or hay is being handed out she is first to Andy for preferential hand-feeding treatment. No precautions with her human friends the choicest nut is her aim, and taking up primary position for feeding is her game.

Her 2004 daughter, Cyprus II (Upper Clutha Reserve Champion 2005 ... see Seeker and a young Cyprus II below), has carried the same personality, and fleece traits. Both are soft with a bold and deep stand-up crimp. Seeker is easy to handle for 'routine maintenance' but does prefer feeding sessions that include a gentle tickle under the chin. Seeker's 2005 daughter, Pelagia (name the book???), is not so demanding of our attention as Mum but .... she is just being weaned and may change her mind ... in time.

Seeker remains a favorite because, despite some time banished to our lower paddocks, she is still the first to see Andy coming over the horizon. Even if a nut or tasty morsel are not apparent she still takes the closest point in the fence to the approaching visitor. One of our more progressive girls in our herd management she continues to amaze us with her memory of people she has 'met' and fed from. 'Seeker' will seek you ... if you are patient!
